café on the river serves a unique "market fresh"
five-course dinner on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, with one
seating at 5:30 p.m., and Friday and Saturday evenings, with one
seating at 7:00 p.m. Reservations are always required. Its
menu is constantly changing to serve the freshest ingredients
available. Freshness will also come in the form of wines from
small vineyards across the country or from Dunnellon's own backyard,
as well as beers from microbreweries. café
on the river has recently won Best
of the Best 2005 for Best New Restaurant, Best Service and Atmosphere,
Best Last Meal on Earth, Best Kept Secret and Most Romantic.
Formerly
a casual snack stop for tubers enjoying the clear current of the
River, café on the river is now under new ownership with
chefs Tracey Weese and Lynne Hough.
The
café also offers a take out or delivered lunch menu, the
root of Weese and Hough's culinary business. Since 2000, they've
been known as the Dinner Dames, a personal chef service providing
lunches for local customers on a daily basis. Sign up here for

orders are either delivered or picked up at the restaurant to
be enjoyed on one of the picnic benches on the dock of the Rainbow
River.
